JBoss 7 AS Course Description

Red Hat JBoss Middleware is a portfolio of enterprise-class application and integration middleware software products delivered by Red Hat, Inc.

JBoss from Red Hat supports JBoss open source application server program and related middleware services marketed under the JBoss Enterprise Middleware

With this JBoss training, you gain the knowledge to install, configure, tune, cluster and secure JBoss, as well as to learn how to successfully deploy and monitor applications.

The sessions teach each and every module of JBoss administration for all modern versions of practical demonstration and regular exercises by real-time experts. JBoss training also covers the teaching of various JBoss Tools which is a set of Eclipse plugins which will make it into JBoss Developer Studio in an umbrella project.


JBoss 7 Application Server Course Learning Outcomes;

  • Understand JBoss AS structure and architecture.
  • Install and configure JBoss.
  • Understand the structure of standalone installations and domain-based installations.
  • Be aware of the classloading characteristics of JBoss 7 and of deployments in the server, and how this differs from JBoss 5.
  • Understand and use the Web management console for managing JBoss AS.
  • Understand the management model, and how to use it via the CLI (Command Line Interface) and via scripting.
  • Be familiar with the XML configuration files, their structure, and their usage.
  • Be able to configure and manage the important subsystems, including the Web, Messaging, and Logging.
  • Configure and manage the Web container, including the HTTP, HTTPS, and AJP connectors.
  • Understand, configure, and use JBoss Security.
  • Assemble, deploy, and manage Java EE application components such as EJB, Servlets, and JMS.
  • Configure resources such as data sources, messaging destinations (topics/queues), etc.
  • Configure runtime security for JBoss services and server-side application components.
  • Cluster JBoss to ensure high availability.
  • Optimize / Tune JBoss performance.
  • Migrate applications from JBoss 5 to JBoss 7.
